早期的印度榕以英文俗名直譯過來成為印度橡樹，近年才給它糾正過來．很多榕樹都有保護的白色汁液，把喜食樹液的昆蟲嚇怕了．有研究指出汁液的流出並不影響樹木的健康，也便不用因此選擇修剪樹木的季節．不過，修剪印度榕時可要帶多一兩片鋸片． In early days, the Chinese name of Ficus elastica was just a direct translation of its English name, India-rubber tree. It was only rectified recently. Most Ficus trees have protective white sap to scare away insects. Studies have shown that the sap does not affect the health of trees, and thus, no particular seasonal preference for pruning.
