Complex of Love

-   「Were Nature sentimental, it too would have grown old」 ~ Nature works and communicates endlessly

Rows of bonsais can be seen on the way to the Chi Lin Nunnery.  These bonsai trees are locked and threaded with chains at their feet.  Small bonsais may induce the greed of passerby, so the owner locks the bonsais for safety sake.

In front of the serene nunnery standing the punished trees – what a contrast!  Fortunately, even though men are relentless, the nature is compassionate!  In 2006, some small yellow fungi were seen growing around the foot of a tree near the chain.  It looked as if they were praying for all living creatures and disentangling our melancholy.

Just one scene reveals different sentiments:  the fear of human nature from the owner; the mercilessness of chaining the trees; the resentment of the innocent bonsais which are being locked; the sympathy of passerby to the innocent trees; the lenity of the fungi…..

The benevolent see benevolence and the wise see wisdom.  I see lenity.  How about you?
